Start with these principles
- Begin below your maximum
- Learn a few movements well
- Progress one variable at a time
Your first two weeks
Try two short strength sessions and two or three walks. Keep effort moderate, write down what you did, and give soreness time to settle before repeating a hard session.
Choose stable exercises
A chair squat, incline push-up, supported row, glute bridge, and carry can cover a lot without complex setups. Adjust range and resistance so the last repetition still resembles the first.
Build confidence with repetition
Changing the workout every day can make it hard to see progress. Repeat a simple plan for several weeks and add difficulty only when technique and recovery are reliable.
Safety and individual needs
Adapt exercise to symptoms, health history, and current capacity. Stop for chest pain, faintness, or unusual shortness of breath. Seek qualified help when pain, recent injury, surgery, pregnancy, or a medical condition changes what is appropriate.
